My model of Amtrak’s P42DC 9 is one of the older “blue box” versions that Athearn released in the 1990s. The newer “ready-to-roll” versions aren’t all that different. I built one of those for our HO Weathering & Detailing Volume 3 program.
HO Modified Tank Car – UTLX 78520
This HO modified tank car was made from an old Walthers funnel flow tank car kit. I used Plano photo etched parts and other details to modernize it.
C44AC 6737 – N Scale Patch Job
I wanted to have at least one patched locomotive in my N scale fleet. I chose a former Chicago & Northwestern locomotive that was patched for new owner Union Pacific, UP C44AC 6737. I started with an N scale Kato AC4400CW decorated for CNW.
TSG MOW Boxcars – N Scale Kitbash
A few years ago I painted quite a bit of N scale equipment for our fictitious Tuscany & Sabine Grove railroad. The T&SG is a shortline running somewhere in California.
45-ton 45 – Modified Switcher
My HO scale Bachmann GE 45-tonner is mostly stock. The paint scheme is one of several generic schemes that were offered at the time I bought it. I liked the yellow best because it looked like some other 45-tonners that I’d seen in photos.
BN GP38-2B 2601 – HO Scale Kitbash
My model of BN 2601 is a much-modified HO scale Proto 2000 GP38-2. The real BN 2601 was rebuilt from a wrecked GP38-2. It was unique on the BN.
ATSF GP35u 2821
Santa Fe 2821 is a modified Kato HO scale GP35 that I painted and detailed. This is one of my oldest Kato models. I bought a pair of Santa Fe GP35s when Kato introduced them around 1990. The Katos were my second pair of GP35s. Before that I’d bought a pair of Southern Pacific units.
TSG SD7 31 and SD26 26
TSG SD7 31 and SD26 26 are two more Atlas N scale locomotives that I painted for our fictitious TSG railroad. These locomotives were painted to match the GP7 and GP30 that I described in my last post.
TSG GP7 15 and GP30 25
Several years ago I created a fictitious shortline railroad using the initials of our company, TSG. The Tuscany & Sabine Grove runs somewhere in California.
