All aboard! Come along for a look at several steam trains running in the western United States! Steam Trains Galore 2 is a 38 minute long video that features numerous shots of all sorts of different steam trains. This video is not narrated and there are no captions on any of the video clips.
You’ll see California Western 2-8-2 No. 45 pulling the famous Skunk Train out of Fort Bragg in the far northern part of California. Watch this historic steam locomotive pulling a train through pristine California coastal redwood forest.
From there you’ll travel east to Nevada to see McCloud River Railroad 2-8-2 No. 18 running on the restored Virginia & Truckee Railroad between Carson City and Virginia City.
Next it’s back to California’s Sierra Nevada for a glimpse of the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad’s 3-foot gauge Shay No. 10 winding its way through alpine forest.
Once more in California, we’ll visit the Niles Canyon Railway during Steamfest III to see Clover Valley 2-6-6-2T No. 4 pulling a fire train. Also in Niles Canyon, you’ll see Mason County Logging Co. 2-6-2T No. 7 double-headed with Santa Cruz Portland Cement Co. 0-4-0T No. 2!
Then its south to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown, California to see Sierra Railway 4-6-0 No. 3. This famous locomotive has appeared in numerous movies and television programs.
Further south we’ll head to Knott’s Berry Farm where we’ll see Rio Grande Southern 3-foot gauge 2-8-0 No. 41 pulling passengers around the park.
Finally we’ll head out to Colorado to see 3-foot gauge 2-8-2 No. 482 running on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
